Innovative vDatabaseAnalyst services provided by an experienced and successful Database Analyst.

Usually a support role to either the Database Architect and/or the Product Manager, the Database Analyst is responsible for analyzing how available information supports business processes.  Whether to improve or re-engineer existing models, or define new solutions , this role requires an ability to understand the fundamentals of how information actually supports business processes.  This position is most often confused with those of the business, system, and/or software analyst.  The software analyst often consumes the services of the Database Analyst.

Some of the responsibilities of a Database Analyst include:

Analysis and documentation of existing or proposed information requirements,

Identification and specification of possible improvements to the fidelity and utility of information, and

A consumer focused needs-based cost-value weighting of proposed solutions.

Although an individual project budget may not allow for a Database Architect and/or Product Manager, it is always a good idea to seek the services of a true Database Analyst.  Although this role can be successfully delegated to software developers, they must possess both relevant talent and experience.  Although domain expertise with the type of information being analyzed is advantageous, the methodologies of the professional allow for predictable and valuable results no matter what their initial understanding of the requirements may be.  Highly skilled and experienced software developers may be able to perform adequately.

It is essential to balance the budget between database analysis and software development.  If you are launching into development without the benefit of a true Database Analyst, you should seriously consider the value that can be realized through the reallocation of development resources to the fulfillment of this role.  Lack of proper Database Analysis will lead to increased development and maintenance costs.

Key Benefits

  • Virtual - No need for a full time - and fully compensated - Database Analyst.
  • Mature - Leverage the skills and experience of an actual Database Analyst.
  • Flexible - Purchase only the services you actually need.
